while history expresses the particular, concentrating on specific details as they happened, poetry can illuminate the universal, not allowing the accidental to intervene. Hence the justification.

Needless to say, it is wise to prepare carefully before taking any action. Yet there are times when we need the courage to take that first step instead of worrying endlessly about how things might turn out. We may end up getting hurt, but repeated failure can actually help us grow into more mature individuals. The experience of picking ourselves up again and again without giving up will surely become a powerful weapon when we are faced with an extraordinarily difficult situation.
